Procrastination……the worst trait ever!

14 Oct

So yea, hey everyone! It has been over 3 months since my last post…..whoops! This all goes along with the theme of this post. Today I read one of my all time favorite blogs and asked myself, “Why aren’t you blogging?” The answer is I really don’t have a good reason except that I kept telling myself I didn’t have the time. I DO however have the time and there are a bunch of areas I have to stop procrastinating in and start getting real with myself. Blogging is one of those things but will not be in the list as I pay for my own blog and entertain the world for free. No one pays me to run the blog so its just for my fun and sanity! So without further procrastination here goes the list.

Oh wait….you have to wait just a bit longer. Let me explain a big reason of why I haven’t been doing the things I want to as much lately. Pregnancy! If you missed our Facebook announcement Dan and I are expecting baby K #2 in April 2015 and are really excited. However afternoon naps sound way better than other things I have to do and Camden snuggles and lazily watching tv are great BUT I have to get moving. Here is the announcement photo before the list. We took it in the parking lot at work with my mom, were photo professionals I know!

IMG_1408

Now to the list:

1. RUNNING and Nutrition.

I’m sure you are all thinking why worry about running while you’re pregnant and I usually wouldn’t. However this pregnancy I have two weekend long race events! In January I have a 5k, 10k, and half marathon in three back to back to back days. I will be six¬†months pregnant. In February I have the same thing, at 7 months pregnant! Both Disney races. (Note my Dr is perfectly fine with this and it is safe for the baby has I have run and trained in advance and kept it up after Camden was born) So it is time to start training more. It is easy to do 1 mile runs, but that isnt going to carry me to the finish line. Also I have a clear plan. The 5k’s are not timed so I will most likely walk those and most of the 10k and I will walk run the half marathon. If you read my post about Princess Half Marathon when I was pregnant with Camden you know I said I would never do it again at 4 months pregnant and yet here I am doing it at 6 and 7 months, yes I am crazy and yes I love to run!!!!

My nutrition needs to be stepped up as well. When I was pregnant with Camden and the first few months after I had an undiagnosed thyroid condition and gained a lot of weight/had a lot of swelling and extra fluid. So I am trying to lose weight during this pregnancy. Not 10lbs a month or anything crazy like that, but each appointment I have been down 2-3lbs from the previous one. Again the Drs are fine with this and encouraging it in my goal to not have another c-section. This is a little easier than the running as long as I am making time to do it. Listen I love sleep as much as the next person but its time to go to bed earlier and get up at 6am everyday and run and prepare meals. Tiring but worth it! Plus it will prepare me for the early days baby #2 is bringing back to our lives. Camden sleeps until 8-9am.

2. Scentsy

Another reason I haven’t been blogging is Scentsy. I have been working so hard at this since Camden was born and it is showing! My team has grown in one year from 3 people to 12, and my commission has tripled in a year! I know that doesn’t sound like I am slacking my days off from my fulltime job I do events and parties. BUT there are aspects I want to get better in because it can only help so I am working towards that!

That is actually pretty much it. Surprisingly with a one year old I have been keeping the house pretty clean, I have been way more organized than before and everything else manages to run itself/fall into place. I am lucky that way, well I also have Dan too. He is my secret weapon! Now that I am in my 2nd trimester and my pregnancy brain isn’t as bad, (it was pretty rough there for a while) I can get down to business and get things done! So I will end this post with a bunch of fun pictures, after all its been 3 months!

A year ago til now

16 Jun

A year ago this week Dan, Camden (in my belly) and I were in HAWAII!!!!!

I was 7 months pregnant and we were having a ball! All expenses paid trips to exotic locales, you could never afford yourself…..Amazing! Thanks again to my part time Scentsy job!

IMG_3967

Flash foward to now where we have baby selfies and a 9 month old! (who turns 10 months on Thursday)

IMG_0352 IMG_0454

My life has changed so much, and yet is still the same. I am currently training for my 5th, 6th and 7th marathons. And hoping at least one yields a 2:45 or below outcome. My ultimate goal being a sub 2:30. Hey I am not fast, but I am determined and I do NOT give up!!!

Plus with the cutest running buddy of all time it is easy to stay focused.

IMG_0484

IMG_0485 IMG_0486

We run on the track and trail. Though I guess I never thought about slowing when going downhill with the BOB jogging stroller. The force of that plus a 20lb baby is enough to almost make a clumsy lady like myself lose their footing! I didn’t though, must be my cat like reflexes ūüôā

Speaking of my 6th Half Marathon, I signed up for the Star Wars Rebel Challenge at Disney Land in January! A 10k Saturday and half sunday. My friend Lauren and I are doing it together just like the Glass Slipper Challenge last year. We are also doing the 5k on Friday!!! These things together are keeping me motivated and excited to run, which is what I need as a tired mommy!

Catching up with the Karnolt’s.

20 Mar

So my last post was about St. Patrick’s Day, but the one before that was from Febraury so its time we catch up so I can make current daily posts!

So what’s going on with us?

DAN:¬†Dan went back to work Monday, while I am still off until April 1st. Camden and I are missing him but glad tomorrow is his day off!!! His birthday is March 31st, the big 2-9, so last night we went out to dinner and saw Book of Mormon at the Bushnell. We loved it! I had bought the tickets for Christmas knowing it would be part of his birthday expeditions! My question for anyone who has seen it also, how many pissed off people were there? At our show there were so many! I don’t think many people researched the show, what it was about, or that Trey Parker wrote it (he created South Park if you didn’t know), of course it was going to be inappropriate.

In other Dan news he is happy, yet sad it is Spring. He bought a new to him snowmobile a couple of weeks ago so its bittersweet. BUT he can ride his dirt bike around now without its snow tires and that is pretty exciting! His racing season is going to start soon for his dirtbike I am so excited, especially since now Camden can watch and realize whats going on better than the last race he was at!

IMG_5947This is currently my favorite picture of Dan and Camden!

ALEX:¬†That’s me, but if you didn’t know that you must be a new reader so welcome!!! Today I am signing up for my next half marathon, it is in April! I haven’t ran more than a mile since I have been home from Florida and I am craving a run, so having a race to do will keep me training! I haven’t ran a lot only because once I got home I had a terrible cold and it kept going around the house! It appears we have all finally defeated the cold! (Knock on wood)

In other news for me my Scentsy business is going amazing! My goal this year is to recruit and help as many people as possible reach their goals with Scentsy. It can be done, I initially joined to use the extra money for my car payments and use my regular salary for bills and fun. Now however with 2 years left on the loan, my car is almost paid off and Dan and I will start being able to make double mortgage payments. Plus my credit card debt is almost zero!!! Pretty amazing stuff, all from an electric warmer and some wax, who would have thought!

IMG_6061Some studying.

The food in the background of the picture was for breakfast the next morning, I have been food prepping because I am on an eating plan to coincide with my training. Since I had Camden I have lost 40 pounds! I have about 15 left until I am to my pre-pregnancy weight! Since I have been on the plan I have lost 10lbs which was great that even being sick/too lazy to meal prep some days I have kept it off!

Plus Dan has devised a reward system for me, each Monday I weigh in and tell him what I weigh. Then depending on how much I have lost I get to eat an Oreo per pound! I love Oreos and Dan bought me two packs and hid them.

Here’s a picture of him presenting them to me.

IMG_6060He looks crazy, its the eyes and the mustache!

Finally Camden and Finny: Our little boys! First we start with the oldest, Finny!

Finny needs a haircut, I have to get him to the groomer, but as Camden gets older they play more and have a great time. They are best friends.

IMG_6047

Camden: Let’s all notice Camden in the above picture, his abilities are starting to concern me! He turned 7 months yesterday and has been on the move for about a month, he crawls, he rolls and now he does this….

IMG_6056

This was an interesting turn of events as I left him lying on the blanket playing with his toys, I came back from doing my makeup and this happened….oh no!!! Yesterday he was at my grandmas and was standing against her ottoman, he took a few steps towards a chair and then fell over. PLEASE DON’T WALK YET!

Currently he is lying behind me on the couch, pulling my hair and proud of himself that he can get his own bib on and off now. He’s pretty cute! However since he has been sick he has also been sleeping a lot.

Passed out on St. Patricks Day.

IMG_6062

And passed out on Mommy…

IMG_6066

So that is basically what has been going on with us in the past month, not too much but fun, hobbies and love. Our little family is doing great and watching our little boy grow and learn more everyday is my favorite!

Princess Half Marathon, the final post!

13 Mar

This is it, the last post of 1/2 Marathon weekend. After this we can move onto current events!

So let’s get right into it! I was a bit worried after the 10k because I had worn mini shorts under my running skirt, but with how humid it was my body glide wore off and I had such bad chaffing on my thighs from the shorts. Thankfully for the half I wore capris and a red shirt, there was no chaffing and I was super comfortable (aside from the heat). ¬†I was dressed as Ariel, sadly I don’t have a photo of my outfit!

IMG_5896 IMG_5897

Heading to my corral, at this point the road split into two zones for corrals since there was over 25,000 people running!

IMG_5899 IMG_5903 IMG_5905

As you can see this race is much larger than Tinkerbell, the 5k and 10k! The last picture is of the Magic Kingdom sign, it still takes a while from here to hit the park and get to the Castle but the sign itself is motivating!

IMG_5907 IMG_5908 IMG_5909Once in the park you head up Main St, into Tomorrow land and then through the Castle. I allowed myself to slow a bit in here to take pictures of it all, but then it was back to being serious about the race. It was a SUPER humid day and everyone was feeling that and commenting on it while on the course. I initially started the race at a 2 min to 1 min Run/Walk interval, then went down to 1 to 1 around mile 5 or 6. After I left the Castle I was able to get back to 2 to 1 for 2-3 miles, then as I hit the overpasses I got pretty tired and still worked hard but listened to my body when I needed to take it easier and when I could push myself. As you may know from the previous posts my goal was to beat last years time of 3:35 and my tinkerbell time of 3:17.

IMG_5911I took this photo as I cross the finish line and waited to collect my medal.

And here are the photos I stole from Laurens snap chat as I waited for her to finish!

IMG_5912 IMG_5913

The 13th mile marker and Lauren finishing!

My results:

IMG_5918

NET TIME: 3:07:38, that is 10 minutes faster than Tinkerbell and almost 30 minutes faster than last years PHM!!!! Goal met and out of my 4 Halves this was my second fastest, creeping in on my PR!!!

After the race was over I had a ton of medals! Including my Coast to Coast the pink one below.

alex2

We showered, napped and then headed to the Magic Kingdom to celebrate our last night it Florida! I was taking advantage of it all since I would be headed back to cold weather and Lauren was headed to California (lucky).

I took pictures of one ride because Little Mermaid is my Favorite Disney movie and the ride was so cute!

IMG_5933

The race was awesome, I feel like I am making a come back! I just need to keep up training and get myself back into 9-12 minute mile territory! I will get there just take things slow and do things the right way!

Until next time Disney it was fun and I cannot wait to do another Disney Race!!! Thinking Wine and Dine 2015, whose coming with me?!?!?!?

Princess Half Marathon Weekend Recap Part 1

10 Mar

Since I ran 3 races that weekend this will be a two parter! BUT don’t worry if you don’t read the blog for running purposes there are plenty of Disney photos and Florida pictures. Plus if you are like me and in an area blanketed in snow you could use a look at some nice warm weather!!!

IMG_5808

Before I left I bought Lauren and I these crowns at Target, sorry for the weird face I was in conversation with Dan in the car and was trying to snap the picture in between his comments about me being a loser for buying a princess crown!

These crowns will be talked about again so remember this.

Lauren and I managed to arrive at the airport around the same time even though she came from California and I came from CT. We went right to the hotel, checked in quick and headed to the expo for the race. Since I was doing the 5k on friday at 6am I had to go pick up all my items Thursday, plus I had pre-ordered shirts from Raw Threads to race in and had to pick them up at the expo to complete my race outfits!

IMG_5827 IMG_5828

The Braves were at the ESPN wide world of sports that day and you could hear them practicing as you walked to the expo. We also wore our crowns, (see I said they would be back) this wasnt the only time this weekend we wore them, and everytime we did people asked where they could buy them. Apparently I was a genius in having the foresight to buy crowns since they were in demand! SEE DAN, SMART NOT A LOSER!!! Though I need to stop talking pictures of myself while talking to people!!

That was apparently all the pictures I took of the expo, but we did shop an extreme amount, so that may have had something to do with it :).

After the expo we headed to downtown disney and had a late lunch/dinner, I have to be honest and say I was worried about eating in Disney as I have been on a eating plan given to me by my trainer to test out. I had lost around 7lbs before the race and had extra time to train so I knew I was in good shape running wise, just had to stick to healthy options.

IMG_5829

I ended up getting a chicken wrap with avacados, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and oil and vinegar on it. It was super satisfying and reassuring that on the first day I was able to find options suited towards me!

Then it was back to the hotel and to bed for my second day out of 4 that I would wake up at 3 am that weekend! It was time to get ready for the 5k! You can see my 5k outfit here. Lauren did not do the 5k so she stayed at the hotel and rested up. We needed rest each day since we ran every morning and went to parks every afternoon!

I got on the bus and headed to the race. I sat next to a girl who was also running alone, we ended up being in the same corral and ran together the whole time it was her first 5k. More on that later.

IMG_5842 IMG_5844Corral B and the starting line! Disney 5k’s are awesome because while there is a clock you are not timed. There is no chip on the back of the bib and you can take it as slow or fast as you want! This helped a lot with my nerves for the weekend and I think prepared me for the next two days!

I decided the night before that I would take the 5k slow enough to be rested for my next two races, but still quick enough to get a good shake out.

IMG_5850 IMG_5851 IMG_5852

Here are some 5k race photos, it takes place in Epcot and goes by so quickly because of that! There is so much to see and hear and its just fun!

The clock is from when corral A started. So we ended up finishing the race around 48 minutes. I was happy with that, since I wasnt about to kill myself for an untimed race, and because I had my goal in sight to beat my Tinkerbell Half Marathon time. (after a 5k and 10k back to back I wasnt sure how the half would go!) Plus my new friend Stephanie was excited about finishing her first 5k and I was just so excited for her. It brought me back to when I first fell in love with running/racing and all the things that go with it. She had a lot to be proud of and so did I!

We boarded the bus headed back to the hotel and said our goodbyes, but not before getting a medal picture to celebrate!!

IMG_5855 Ignore my haggard nailpolish!!!

Then it was time for Lauren and I to head to some parks! Todays agenda was Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Lauren is the parks master and planned out our days, times and rides so everything was super efficient and we spent almost no time waiting!

I had never been to AK and hadnt been to Epcot (as a guest, I was clearly there running hours before) since I was a little girl so I didnt remember it well!

IMG_5857 IMG_5858 IMG_5861 IMG_5862 IMG_5863

The above photos are just some highlights from the parks. Including the dinosaur ride (my favorite in AK) and the Mission Space Ride in Epcot, we went for the green level and I still felt a bit dizzy afterwards but it was really fun!

Then it was back to the hotel for rest, dinner and bed. That night Lauren and I had french food from the french restaurant in Epcot. I got Soup and some pasta, but was so full after the soup I brought the rest home. We were in bed by 7:30 and up at 3am again when my alarm went off to catch the 3:30am bus to the 10k……

…….To hear more on that you will have to read tomorrows entry!!!

Tinkerbell Half Marathon Recap!

7 Mar

In January I ran the Tinkerbell Half Marathon in Disneyland, step one in completing my Coast to Coast Disney Journey. However I think the most important part to me was that it was my first Half since having Cam. And my first half since the Princess in 2013 (while I was pregnant). My only goals for Tinkerbell were to have fun, and since I could push myself, to beat my time from PHM of 3:35. Without a baby in your belly it is easier to make yourself go faster.

My initial goal was to do it in 2:30, but after having Camden via c-section, there was no way that was happening! So my new goal became anytime under 3:35. (Actually I had forgotten it was 3:35 and thought I had done it in 3:25, so I added a bit of unnecessary pressure during the race.)

I knew adjusting to the babies schedule, and not having as much free time to train as I did before would hinder me a bit and I was INCREDIBLY nervous at the start, but the race itself actualy put me at ease.

IMG_5599 IMG_5602 IMG_5603

Pictures: Me in my corral, I was in C. This race is smaller than princess, so I was glad to be closer to the start and not have to wait as long. Next is Tinkerbell starting the race for our corral and the first mile marker. (Times on the mile marker are since corral A began.)

The ONLY thing I like better in Tinkerbell vs PHM is that the California Half begins and then after 1.5 miles you are in the parks. This made me have fun and relax, going through the park at dark with a bunch of other runners is kind of Magical. (Plus it was my first time in Disneyland/California Adventure, you run through both.)

IMG_5606 IMG_5610 IMG_5611 IMG_5613 IMG_5615

Pictures I took in the park, some are blurry because I was on the move and nervous, but as I went on I stopped and paced myself with them to get better quality shots, and to remind myself I do these races for fun.

Then it was out of the parks and onto the highways/roads of Anaheim, this is where I prefer Florida Disney races, only because they own the roads and have characters on them. California had cheerleaders and marching bands, still cool, just not the same as PHM.

IMG_5618

IMG_5620

IMG_5621

The go random stranger sign was motivating, and the second picture is just showing you the mile marker on the roads. The last picture is one of my all time favorites. I was nearing mile 13 at this point and saw this lady, TEAM MOTHERBOY, if you are an Arrested Development fan you know why this woman became my hero, and her costume was perfect down to the martini glass. Too bad I never saw the guy she was running with who must have been dressed as Buster.

Lauren met me along the course at various spots and that really helped, but I was tired. 3 hours came and went and I was nervous I was going to do the same or worse than my pregnant half. I mean I did weigh around the same as when I ran it and MAN was I exhausted. But I pushed myself and crossed the finish in 3:17!!!! That is almost 20 minutes faster than last year. All things considered I was proud of that. The race was fun and well worth it. Afterward Lauren and I hit the parks hard, and almost both fell asleep on the drive back to her apartment. The next day I headed back home to CT and my family that I had missed so much. One thing was for sure, I was so proud of what I had accomplished!!!

So I end this post with a bunch of photos. Let me start with one of the many Dan sent to inspire me while running, and end with my race outfit and medal!

IMG_5629 IMG_5624 IMG_5622 IMG_5626

I guess I fibbed as the last picture is Lauren and I going around Disney!!!

California Adventure Day 2!!

18 Feb

As I am getting ready to head to Florida to run Disney’s Princess Half Marathon weekend with my pal Lauren, I realized I never finished updating this! Things have been crazy we have had so much snow and the baby is growing like a weed! He will be 6 months old tomorrow, if you can even believe it.

But back to California and thinking warm! Bring on day 2….

IMG_5581

Day 2 started bright and early with a pb and j, it was delicious and made for me by Lauren. We had a very busy day ahead. We went to go for a walk but it was super packed when we got there so I got a few pictures as we drove.

IMG_5582

We also met up with one of my college roomates who now lives in California, thanks so much for making the drive Nicole!

We then walked all around the Griffith Observatory which was really neat, I love science and astronomy. Here’s some photos!

IMG_5583 IMG_5584 IMG_5588

The last photo is of the periodic table of elements and they actually had each element in the box. It was pretty cool to see.

After that we had lunch together and then Lauren and I said goodbye and headed to our hotel in Anaheim for the race the next day!

IMG_5594 IMG_5595

I got my race outfit ready, then we had some cupcakes and watched tv. I went to bed around 7:30am, as I had to be on the shuttle to the race at 3:30am!

It was a great trip, tomorrow I will post my race recap, which will be really long. Thursday I leave for Florida, and will have a whole new adventure to post about!

My California Adventure Day 1!

3 Feb

Well technically, Day 1 was actually traveling and I was supposed to arrive at 5:45pm west coast time, but due to travel delays I was stuck in New Jersey for 7 hours, and ended up getting there at 9:30pm West Coast time and was exhausted. Luckily the night before I had upgraded my flight from NJ to CA to the economy plus, look how much room I had!!!

IMG_5549

So lets start on Friday, my first actual full day in California! Our first adventure of the day was the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. Here are a bunch of pictures from that some with descriptions some without.

IMG_5552 IMG_5553 IMG_5554

The first stop was where the housed famous vehicles from shows and movies. I of course needed pictures of the motorcycle from Batman and the Harry Potter car!!! The first picture is of the space capsule from Big Bang theory. That thing is seriously tiny for three grown men to be in!

IMG_5556 IMG_5557

IMG_5568If these next photos looked familiar you must be a friends fan! They still have this set up there and you can tour it, so of course we had to pretend to have coffee there!!! That’s my friend Lauren she lives in California now and I stayed with her and she spectated the race, but will be doing the Glass Slipper Challenge with me this month!

Finally we ended the tour at the Museum, I had to take pictures of costumes from my favorite movies/shows.

IMG_5560

From Great Gatsby.

IMG_5562

From suburgatory. One of my favorite shows!!!

And now for the Harry Potter section, its the entire top floor!

IMG_5551

IMG_5563

That dress is so intricate and amazingly made in person! IMG_5564 IMG_5565 IMG_5567

Before we left we got sorted, Lauren into Slytherin and me into Hufflepuff.

After the tour ended we headed to Disney to pick up my race packet and see the expo.

We also had some lunch I wasnt very hungry so I ordered some eggrolls.

IMG_5570 IMG_5569I also drank about a gallon of water.

FInally we ended our day with dinner and some time at the beach. The second picture in the montage was sent to Lauren’s sister who lives in D.C. hope she was jealous. The dinner pictures are from a place where you order small plates and share them, they were so good and we def had left overs!

IMG_5572 IMG_5580

IMG_5574 IMG_5576 IMG_5578

Bacon cheddar biscuits, spicy green beans and some mac and cheese!!!! SO yummy!!!

Day 2 tomorrow. Have a good Monday everyone and STAY WARM!!!

Wednesday Catch Up

29 Jan

I am currently laid off from my main job, because as I explained to the lady from unemployment today, no one wants to buy motorcycles in Jan in Connecticut. Its just common sense really!

So while I cannot wait to post about my adventures in California and the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, today I will catch you up on old pictures, of things I havent had a chance to post or talk about. ENJOY!!!!

Tortilla soup Dan made me when I had a cold, what a guy!!!

IMG_5488

From my Facebook page follow me here

IMG_5506 IMG_5531 IMG_5541

He’s pretty cute.

And finally some photos from my last run before the race.

IMG_5542 IMG_5543

It might not look beautiful to you, but it is to me since to the left of this photo is my parents house and the neighborhood I grew up in. I like to run there because I know the distances even without my garmin (even though I still use it) and it seems a lot safer for runners and walkers than my current neighborhood!

So now you’re pretty much caught up, until I left for California that is. I missed that little baby something fierce, but that is for another post. Have a great day!!!

Getting Real With Myself….

2 Jan

A list of things I have to do for MYSELF:

THIS IS NOT A LIST OF NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS. Let’s just get that straight first and foremost!!!! I never make them because I never keep them. This is a list of things I have to do for myself to feel better, look better and be better.

I know what to do and I have done it, I lost 30 lbs before I got married and was in shape, looked great and was happy and healthy. I have to take time for myself and be a little more selfish. Yes I am a Mom and I give Camden my all, anyone will tell you that. But to stay sane and really love myself I need to do things for MYSELF! That’s the problem with resolutions people do them for others, where as changing your life is for you.

1. RUN

Keep running, and running and running. Get it!?!?! I used to be in such great shape for running and was doing very well, then I got pregnant and after my half marathon last February I let it fall off. Why? Because lets face it being pregnant is HARD and running while doing so is even harder!

The good news is running after pregnancy isnt as hard as I would have thought. It still sucks to basically start over but it isnt truly starting over. 4 miles is still relatively easy which is awesome! But I do have races coming up every month until a full marathon in May and I WILL do the full, then I can take another break and possibly try and have another baby, but for now running is my main priority (aside from my family and working obvi!)

You know its on when:

IMG_5444 IMG_5441

I finally got my REAL running shoes to fit my fat feet (they got huge after pregnancy and are just starting to come down). If you’re wondering why my socks don’t match, then Welcome to the blog first time reader!!!

Also the treadmill which I have a love affair with, and the Damn FOAM ROLLER which I have a hatred for, even though I know it helps. If you have foam rolled you know what I am talking about.

2. Strength Training….

This will help me tone up my loose muscle from the baby and with a c-section there is plenty! My legs and arms have returned to their regular size so thats awesome, but my stomach def has not and has a long way to go. Lets just say its interesting to find jeans that look alright and are not maternity! I look like a meatball on a toothpick, and If you think I don’t I can cleverly disguise this with my clothing, I am like a magician!

¬†This one I have covered since I go to Jeff twice a week and he let’s me bring Camden to our appointments. I am pretty lucky for that!!!

3. Things that make me feel good about myself.

-Moisturizing my skin (especially my face). I love arbonne’s products because I have really really dry skin!

-Taking care of and doing my hair and makeup! This just makes me feel good when I think I look good!

-PEDICURES I have pretty much the driest skin ever. (mostly doing them myself, unless I hit a weightloss goal)

-Save money and get out of debt (I AM SO CLOSE, thank you Scentsy)

-Reward myself for hitting goals with small gifts (not food related)

-DON’T SET A NUMBER FOR WEIGHTLOSS, just keep going until I feel good.

The scale is just a number my happiness is the key!

4. Eat correctly.

Will I still eat cheese? Yep

Red Meat? Yep

Everything in moderation because for me it isnt feasible to do it any other way. If I have to cut anything out then I will cheat and be done, but I know how to find ways to fill up on healthy stuff and eat minimal bad things. So I have to get after that.

5. Do good for others.

This started by donating 5 bags of old clothes yesterday because I am not going to wear them and someone could always use them! It will continue with Scentsy fundraisers, and getting involved in our charities more at my full time job!

So why is 2014 the year of doing things for ALEX over doing things for others (in my personal life)? Because I do a lot for others and am a nurturer, this doesn’t leave too much time to do things for me. I don’t want to feel bad about myself anymore. The happier I am the happier those around me will be. So if I am doing things for me this year it isn’t selfish its helpful to everyone around me. Especially when I have Dan, Finny and this guy to be happy and healthy for!!!!
