Procrastination……the worst trait ever!

14 Oct

So yea, hey everyone! It has been over 3 months since my last post…..whoops! This all goes along with the theme of this post. Today I read one of my all time favorite blogs and asked myself, “Why aren’t you blogging?” The answer is I really don’t have a good reason except that I kept telling myself I didn’t have the time. I DO however have the time and there are a bunch of areas I have to stop procrastinating in and start getting real with myself. Blogging is one of those things but will not be in the list as I pay for my own blog and entertain the world for free. No one pays me to run the blog so its just for my fun and sanity! So without further procrastination here goes the list.

Oh wait….you have to wait just a bit longer. Let me explain a big reason of why I haven’t been doing the things I want to as much lately. Pregnancy! If you missed our Facebook announcement Dan and I are expecting baby K #2 in April 2015 and are really excited. However afternoon naps sound way better than other things I have to do and Camden snuggles and lazily watching tv are great BUT I have to get moving. Here is the announcement photo before the list. We took it in the parking lot at work with my mom, were photo professionals I know!

Now to the list:

1. RUNNING and Nutrition.

I’m sure you are all thinking why worry about running while you’re pregnant and I usually wouldn’t. However this pregnancy I have two weekend long race events! In January I have a 5k, 10k, and half marathon in three back to back to back days. I will be six months pregnant. In February I have the same thing, at 7 months pregnant! Both Disney races. (Note my Dr is perfectly fine with this and it is safe for the baby has I have run and trained in advance and kept it up after Camden was born) So it is time to start training more. It is easy to do 1 mile runs, but that isnt going to carry me to the finish line. Also I have a clear plan. The 5k’s are not timed so I will most likely walk those and most of the 10k and I will walk run the half marathon. If you read my post about Princess Half Marathon when I was pregnant with Camden you know I said I would never do it again at 4 months pregnant and yet here I am doing it at 6 and 7 months, yes I am crazy and yes I love to run!!!!

My nutrition needs to be stepped up as well. When I was pregnant with Camden and the first few months after I had an undiagnosed thyroid condition and gained a lot of weight/had a lot of swelling and extra fluid. So I am trying to lose weight during this pregnancy. Not 10lbs a month or anything crazy like that, but each appointment I have been down 2-3lbs from the previous one. Again the Drs are fine with this and encouraging it in my goal to not have another c-section. This is a little easier than the running as long as I am making time to do it. Listen I love sleep as much as the next person but its time to go to bed earlier and get up at 6am everyday and run and prepare meals. Tiring but worth it! Plus it will prepare me for the early days baby #2 is bringing back to our lives. Camden sleeps until 8-9am.

2. Scentsy

Another reason I haven’t been blogging is Scentsy. I have been working so hard at this since Camden was born and it is showing! My team has grown in one year from 3 people to 12, and my commission has tripled in a year! I know that doesn’t sound like I am slacking my days off from my fulltime job I do events and parties. BUT there are aspects I want to get better in because it can only help so I am working towards that!

That is actually pretty much it. Surprisingly with a one year old I have been keeping the house pretty clean, I have been way more organized than before and everything else manages to run itself/fall into place. I am lucky that way, well I also have Dan too. He is my secret weapon! Now that I am in my 2nd trimester and my pregnancy brain isn’t as bad, (it was pretty rough there for a while) I can get down to business and get things done! So I will end this post with a bunch of fun pictures, after all its been 3 months!

My two favorite guys looking handsome!

And finally an outtake from our announcement photos!

Camden loved it! But Dan’s eyes ruined it! Love them and so excited to add a new Karnolt to the mix!

Proud of myself…

8 Jul

I have NEVER been a self confident person. I was always super quiet, shy, and hate being the center of attention. I know, I know, I write a blog about my life, I must love attention, but really don’t.

However I am changing, and while I may never love all eyes on me I know it’s okay to have that happen. Honestly two years ago when I started doing Scentsy it was for extra money. Two years ago I never would have taken a trip alone to a place I have never been, only knowing one other person going. But I did it and I know it’s worth it. I joined Scentsy to make extra money and have a better life. I stay with Scentsy because of the things it has changed in my life, and in myself. You truly can do this and be successful if you believe in yourself and I am starting to more and more!

So here I am in St. Louis, all alone until my roommates (who I have never met) arrive tomorrow! I am so excited and actually have zero anxiety about the experience, for the first time ever! I leave you with some photos!

A year ago this week Dan, Camden (in my belly) and I were in HAWAII!!!!!

I was 7 months pregnant and we were having a ball! All expenses paid trips to exotic locales, you could never afford yourself…..Amazing! Thanks again to my part time Scentsy job!

Flash foward to now where we have baby selfies and a 9 month old! (who turns 10 months on Thursday)

IMG_0352 IMG_0454

My life has changed so much, and yet is still the same. I am currently training for my 5th, 6th and 7th marathons. And hoping at least one yields a 2:45 or below outcome. My ultimate goal being a sub 2:30. Hey I am not fast, but I am determined and I do NOT give up!!!

Plus with the cutest running buddy of all time it is easy to stay focused.

IMG_0485 IMG_0486

We run on the track and trail. Though I guess I never thought about slowing when going downhill with the BOB jogging stroller. The force of that plus a 20lb baby is enough to almost make a clumsy lady like myself lose their footing! I didn’t though, must be my cat like reflexes 🙂

Speaking of my 6th Half Marathon, I signed up for the Star Wars Rebel Challenge at Disney Land in January! A 10k Saturday and half sunday. My friend Lauren and I are doing it together just like the Glass Slipper Challenge last year. We are also doing the 5k on Friday!!! These things together are keeping me motivated and excited to run, which is what I need as a tired mommy!

An attempt at normalcy…..

1 Oct

I say attempt because with a 1.5 month old you quickly learn the best laid plans dont come to fruition unless its on the babies terms and schedule!

My plan for today:

Wake up at 8:45 am, get ready and go grocery shopping to start my weight watchers plan off right. (I rejoined last night) I want to lose my last 9 pregnancy pounds and then start in on the fat pounds I already had going on :). Then run for 45 minutes per my half marathon training plan and shower and make lunch/dinner.  Also do all of Camden’s laundry. He had a blowout on the way home from NC and good lord was it awful. Yes it is a day after we got home and you must be wondering why I didn’t wash the clothes yesterday…I’ll get to that.

What actually happened:

Woke up with the baby at 3:30 am, 6:30 am and 8:30 am. I was exhausted after how much he wanted to eat last night so after he fell back asleep so did I until around 10:30 when he needed a diaper change.

Here is Camden around 3:30 am looking exhausted. This position is key after he eats, he burps right away and poops. Hey you do what you gotta do! Plus how tired does this kid look!?

Plus add to this the fact Dan forgot to set his alarm, luckily I woke up at around 8:11 before the baby and he was on his way.

So now I was up at 10:30, well I had to get him changed, dressed, fed and I had to pump. (I am trying to rebuild my supply after vacation but its pretty pathetic right now). Cue the baby spitting up all over his clean outfit.

Camden after a quick de-robing I noticed he had peed, because when it rains it pours. Yes I changed him and his clothes on the kitchen Island because Im not above taking the quickest route.

So after a quick change we were out the door I had to go to the post office and the grocery store. I figured a clean and well fed baby equaled one who would nap….I was wrong. The grocery store went fine until check out when he started to rev up quite a bit. Also I could only buy about a quarter of my list since the car seat took up most of the space in the carriage. I cannot wait for the day he can sit up in a cart himself in front, then I can fit everything. I got back home around 1 and started cooking. I made soup for dinner and also wanted to make lettuce wraps for lunch. I ended up eating two cold pieces of pizza from the fridge because between a cranky baby and walking the dog thats what I had time for. But I did get the soup done and stayed within weight watchers points even eating the pizza.

At this point I remembered I wanted to wash the babies clothes that were in the washer and asked myself why I didn’t do it yesterday, then I remembered.

The pink and white bottle is the baby detergent. Even with a chair I cant get it, thanks Dan for being so tall.

I called Dan to inform him of this and I think he was proud of himself. We also ended up making a deal that because Cam is so cranky we will both workout while he is sleeping with us in the basement. My treadmill is there and Dan’s trainer for his bicycle is there. Hopefully he will nap for 45 minutes straight so I can get it done!

So now dinner is done and I am feeding Camden, while we wait for daddy to get home. This has been the busiest day I have had him, in terms of trying to do errands and housework by myself, while he is cranky. I think we both did pretty well and I did get quite a few smiles from my little guy!

Now I am enjoying my baby’s company and relaxing to the scents of potato soup and scentsy. I got a new scent for October and thought its Fall lets make it smell that way.

Life is finally returning to normal and I am not so sleep deprived. Which is awesome because I go back to work in 13 days and take Camden with me….. let the new adventures begin!

Hawaii Day 3: Part One

9 Jul

Clearly we have been back from Hawaii for about 2 weeks! I am such a blogging slacker….but I am also very pregnant and was informed I might not be making it to my due date of August 18th. So instead of coming home to blog I have been trying to ready everything on the off chance Camden decides to make an appearance!

Anywho back to the trip. This post is a two parter since it was our Island tour and there are ALOT of pictures!!!

So here we go:

IMG_4015 IMG_4016 IMG_4019

This was our first stop. It was beautiful and our first glimpse of what we always imagined Hawaii would be. (Waikiki is like a city so it wasnt what you would think.) The other side of the Island was gorgeous though!!!

The second picture is where From Here to Eternity was filmed…so that was pretty cool to see. The final picture looks like a wave crashing on rocks but that is actually THE BLOWHOLE its a small hole in the rocks where wave pressure created a geyser, pictures dont do it justice really.

Then we were back on the bus and off to our next stop the lookout.

The lookout is a huge cliff made from the volcano in which you can look over the valley of the Island. From here you could see the Island they used for Gilligans Island…..Oahu is pretty famous, but more on that later. The first picture was of chickens, which are everywhere, we were really surprised they were living up on this cliff and that there was like 20 of them up there!

IMG_3999Clearly not the next stop, but this was my tour outfit. Scentsy gave us those backpacks and it was key for all our traveling items. Dan said I looked cute and wanted to take a picture, then he told me that really it was because I looked like I was on 16 and pregnant.

This was also from the lookout and freaked me out…I am afraid of heights to begin with but why have a battle on a cliff?!?!?! Clearly someone is falling off!!!

The last stop Im going to talk about in this post is the buddhist temple. It is a recreation of a temple in Japan and is beautiful, it is in a local cemetery.

IMG_4036 IMG_4039

The first picture is of the Japanese grave stones, they are all in one area and were beautiful. They only put the last name of the family on them.

The second picture is of a giant Gong there that you could ring, Dan has a video of him ringing it that I took, it was a highlight for him.

Everyone honored this and removed their shoes.

The temple was beautiful!

IMG_4042 IMG_4044 IMG_4045 IMG_4041

Dan really liked that statue and made a new friend!!!

So that was part one of our tour, tomorrow part 2 plus our first dinner provided by Scentsy!

Have a great tuesday!!!

Last day!

21 Jun

So I will update you on days 3,4 and 5 when I get home. There are just too many pictures to try and blog from my phone. Hawaii has been great and I have been blown away by the generosity of scentsy during the trip. Last night they rented out the entire paradise cove luau for us!

Here is a picture of Dan and I.

Dan actually owns and wore a Hawaiian shirt and I had my blue Hawaiian maxi dress on, though the top is plain so you cannot tell.

It’s 8am here now (2pm for those of you at home), and our flight doesn’t leave until 8:25pm, we leave for the airport at 5:15pm. All that would be fine except we have to check out of the hotel at 11am, so we aren’t sure how we are going to spend our day.

Well we are off to figure out something, we arrive home tomorrow around 2pm. I for one cannot wait to be home, Hawaii was great but now that it’s over I can concentrate on my last month of work and getting ready for the arrival of little Camden!

Hawaii day 2!

19 Jun

So day 2 was a nice relaxing day for us. I woke up at around 4:30 am (that’s 10:30am at home) and got ready for our welcome breakfast. I figured why not look presentable.

Here is me before breakfast I even curled my hair! Dan was still asleep so I was pretty happy our balcony door was mirrored that way there is a nice shot of me and the scenery!

When Dan got up and ready we were still a bit early for the breakfast and decided to walk the beach where we saw that awesome rainbow! That picture is from my Instagram so there’s a filter on it.

At the breakfast everyone who was on their first incentive trip received a pillow case that says Pick.Pack.Play. That is the name of the trip since you chose your location from 6 destinations. Hawaii was the most popular of course and I feel so lucky to have earned it! There are 900 people here from scentsy!

After breakfast we changed and headed to the beach, we both wanted a low key and relaxed day as Tuesday and Wednesday we have tours. This is the side beach of our hotel. The hotel was built right on the ocean so they have this small beach and one other beach they share with another hotel so it is packed. I also really loved that tree.

The scenery here is pretty gorgeous those hibiscus were all over while we ate lunch. Lunch was the best Asian chicken salad I have ever had, Dan had the same and we both agreed how amazing they were. We got them from the hotel cafe which makes salads, sandwiches, gelatos and shaved ice.

After lunch it was time for the pool. Palm trees for a bit of shade, while still managing to get some sun. The second picture is of my baby bump and how impressed I was that at 31 weeks I can still see my feet when I lie on my back!

For dinner we went to RumFire a restaurant in the hotel. They had a live band and we ate great food. We split those chips and I had macaroni and cheese. It had ham and hot peppers in it, I took a lot of it back to the room it was delicious but filling! Dan had a truffle burger and loved it. For drinks he had a Mai Thai and I had a Virgin lava flow, it was unbelievable how good the piña colada mix was so fresh and yummy!

After dinner we headed back to the room where we received our first nights room drop gifts, scentsy is pretty generous like that. We got towels sunscreen and lip balm. The later two are scentsy products you can buy and I love the sunscreen. It was what I had brought on the trip anyway and works and smells great! The picture after is the view from our balcony that doesn’t face the ocean. This island is pretty amazing, where the hotel is located it is a major city that happens to have a gorgeous beach. As you will see in tomorrow’s day three post the other side of the island is much different! Hope everyone back home is having a great week!

Aloha from Hawaii!!!

17 Jun

The sign from Honolulu airport! We are so excited to be in Hawaii! It is day 2 for us (our first full day here). Well it almost is its 4:30am and I am wide awake silt time change!!!! Dan is somehow sleeping still poor tired boy!

Anyway lets recap yesterday! We got up at 5:30am EST and headed to the airport. We flew first class both flights because how could I not upgrade when half the fee was paid for by scentsy, and my husband is a tall man and I am 31 weeks pregnant! Flying in style was the only way to fly.
The flight to Hawaii was around 9 hrs and we watched two movies, the new wizard of Oz (is it bad I rooted for the bad witches all movie?) and beautiful creatures which was okay.
I am positive though that the flights goal was to pump you full of food so you would slip into a food coma!

Our snack on the plane for the first movie! Then our lunches Dan had a short rib and I had pasta!

Both came with a salad. For dessert they made you ice cream sundaes!!

After the long flight and subsequent sleeping for hours after all that food, (they served cheeseburgers before we landed which Dan ate but I just couldn’t fit anymore food in there) we made it to Hawaii!

I think we are looking pretty good for such a long flight! We boarded the bus with some other scentsy incentive trip winners and headed to the hotel. After going up 25 floors in the hotel we were treated to this view!

We took it pretty easy last night. We just walked around the hotel and then went to the welcome reception. Where we had some great food (fried artichokes and virgin Mai Thais! Yummy!!)

The last two pictures are of the ocean from the hotel and the coastline and mountain. The mountains here are beautiful!
Like I said in the beginning of the post it’s now almost 5 am here and breakfast is at 8am. It is the welcome breakfast and I guess they are announcing something new from scentsy so it is even more exciting! Then the day is ours to do as we please I foresee a pool or beach day!

Back by Popular Demand….

10 May

Well really my Aunt Kim who is my number one blogging fan, but I figured it was time for a post!!!

I am now almost 26 weeks pregnant (on Sunday) which means 7 months and the third trimester are quickly approaching! I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by. Honestly it feels like just yesterday when I found out I would be having a baby! It was December 3rd when I found out by the way. Also the best way to see pregnancy as it is 40 weeks which would= 10 months in by taking the amount of weeks you are and dividing by 4….that is how I figure out how many months I am as pregnancy is not actually 10 months. Some months are 5 weeks and some are 3.5 so yea you try and wrap your head around it….I did the best I could!

Here are some fun things I have experienced/shared since my last post about the baby!

– Pedicures are AWESOME!!! I got one on Wednesday because I was sick of my feet looking gross for Yoga every week. There is no picture of this because my feet are swollen and I have an unattractive cut on my big toe so you can just imagine that situation.

-I have gotten Stretch Marks on my Tummy and have Kankles when I stand too long. But hey it is all worth it in the name of having my baby! I have since been rubbing lotion on my belly in an attempt to keep them as light as they are and keep my feet elevated when not at work. Any remedies for either will be appreciated!!

-We have finished the baby registry and are registered at Babies R Us. (giving any man the scanner is a bad idea as Dan really enjoyed scanning gender specific items) I was trying to keep it a secret. But the cat is out of the bag so…

-We announced this on Facebook!.

He is arriving around 8-18-13…anytime from 8-11-13 to 8-18-13 or beyond I guess as this IS our first and they can go late….the magic of babies!!!!

-Here is a belly front and side shot from yesterday…..PRETTY BIG compared to my last one posted on here.

I dont know that I even realized there would be a time my stomach would stick out farther than my chest. But that little ball of a bump is CUTE! Also my shirt, phone and nail polish match…..that was the best part of that day for me!

– I have been working a lot between TSI and Scentsy events and think it is time to pull back a bit on Scentsy. I start my maternity leave on August 1st and will stop working late nights until 8 in July. I worked until 8pm yesterday and when I got home I could not keep my eyes open! This growing a human thing is EXHAUSTING!!!!!

IMG_3778 IMG_3780

These are pictures from my event on Saturday. As you can see I had Scentsy on one side and TSI on the other. It was nice to spend the day working with my Dad (he is in the grey polo and jeans), it is made even better when he buys you some Ritas Water Ice. Pregnant ladies getting free food= VICTORY!

– I remember to make time for my first baby as well….Also I am totally wearing a shirt here….I realize it looks like I am naked but I promise I am not.

I hope everyone has a good weekend and all the Mommies enjoy their Mother’s Days. I will be trying to post more if I actually do anything interesting….or anything at all :).

Slacking with my Blogging….

24 Apr

But for good reason! I have not blogged in so long because I have been really sick. I have been on bed rest with Baby K since Saturday! I wasn’t sure if I would share this on the blog or not as I am a pretty shy person if I don’t know you in real life. But then I thought I share everything with my readers because they are my friends. So thank you for continuing to read the blog even though I have not been blogging. I have also had an extremely bad cold and stomach bug in the past 3 days so not much interesting has happened.

Though I did leave the house once to get someone a very important haircut!

He is pretty cute and I am a crazy Momma so I had to make this and post it onto my Twitter….you know you want to follow me ;).

Yea he is wearing sun glasses, he is one bad ass man! Plus the Bandana made the look. Basically I love my little Man!

In other news what do you do when you are on bed rest?!?! Well you apparently make a Youtube video of yourself talking about Scentsy! I will be uploading a new video talking about something different each week to market my business and get more people interested. You can find my channel HERE.

Basically you can listen to my sweet New England accent made better by my cold. In reality though you can see the warmer of the month for May 2013 and check out the sweet motorcycle warmer, and the other choices.

Finally I have the sweetest husband possibly ever. When the bad stuff went down on Saturday and we both got really scared I did not want to leave bed. We were both really hungry though and so Dan got me dinner in bed!

I was craving chicken alfredo and this one was SO good!! Plus a baking sheet is the answer to your prayers when you don’t want to spill on your sheets!

Finally in the bad news world NO MORE RUNNING UNTIL BABY K IS HERE!!!!!

I would rather not chance it and I knew it was coming after my last Doctor’s appointment. I can still go on walks so I am looking forward to starting those tomorrow! Does anyone want to walk with me, I find walking SUPER boring because its slow. I love running speed intervals because you change pace, but I doubt I am allowed to do pace changes. Unless I go slower…..so yea looking for a walking buddy!

That is what the Karnolt’s have been up to! What have you been up to in my absence?!?!?!
