So yea I missed Tuesday and Wednesdays post. I will therefore combine, Training Tuesday, Wacky Fact Wednesday and Treat Yourself Thursday now…

Tuesdays workout was a training session with Jeff, I was feeling good about it all especially when I am still having coughing fits like crazy! I wore these shoes (which I still love) and these socks which I bought on sale and also love!! I own them in pink and the brown color you can see in the link. The brown are the ones I wore! They are easily the best compression socks I have ever bought/worn. I wore them because my legs have been sore and tight lately!

1.) So my trying to detox off of grainy carbs fell off when I went to Grandma’s for family dinner and this was there…

Special thanks to my brother Harry for posing the serving spoon for me. He may have rolled his eyes and Dan may have said welcome to my world of posing for pictures but HE STILL DID IT! He loves me I know!

2.) Here are some of the foods I have been eating to detox off carbs, processed foods and un-natural/refined sugars…

Unsweetened Almond Milk, Raspberries, and sunflower seeds. A yummy cereal of sorts.

Salad with Balsamic and Olive oil dressing (I made) Chicken, broccoli, carrots and salad greens. So fresh and delicious!!!

And a snack/breakfast if I am to lazy or tired to cook..

I guess I will call this PB&J on a log, I dont like raisins so raspberries it was! PS Almond butter is pretty amazing!!!!

3.) I am pretty sure the dog spends 90% of his day like this and I have to say I am a bit jealous. How comfy does he look?

Here is what I treated myself to today.

Passion Fruit tea with some local honey infused with grand marnier. It was so delicious and worth every sip! Mom is the president of her Rotarty Club and they did a fundraiser with that and local Jam. So Dan and I got some! I have yet to try the jams and may not for a while. But this honey was great, and a really nice and NATURAL sweetener treat!

Something to think about…Workout Wednesday!

7 Nov

As we head into the holiday season and might be letting our diet and exercise programs get a bit lax, due to stress, time issues, what have you, here is something to ponder!

Thanks to my facebook friend Bonnie and Active.com for the graphic!

But it is something we all must realzie if we are trying to stay fit and eat all the delicious holiday foods! My plan is to log some serious treadmill time in the morning. I have Thanksgiving at my house every year and wake up around 4:30-5:00am to put the Turkey in. We get a big Turkey and eat around 1 or 2pm. Thus the turkey has to be done early, especially since we work retail and go into work at midnight for Black Friday!!!

I will be walking/maybe running on the tredmill when I get home as it is snowing here and I am still stuffy and could do with the exercise, but without the coughing fit!

My miles will be logged into my Wacky Fact Wednesday post, so check back later!!!!

Getting Back at It!

26 Mar

After the race I allowed myself one rest day instead of two like after the last one. So I of course planned to sleep in but no, that did not happen. I was up at 7:30 am on Sunday and could not go back to sleep! So I watched some TV and then finally got ready to go to my first Scentsy party with my sponsor Cyndi. After I got home it was time to put PJ’s on and relax the rest of the night. Plus Dan surprised me with these for dinner!

While not the best for you, it did taste amazing and was the most wonderful combo. Bravo Taco Bell!

As for this morning, it was time to wake up at 5:30 am and get ready and head to Jeff to workout. It is so nice to have a trainer that also runs because he gives me a break before the race. BUT TODAY I PAID FOR MY BREAK! The workout was tough but fun and I am feeling good and worked out some of my soreness in my calves. I am going to run as well, but we have a birthday party to attend first, so treadmill it is.

I also had a nice walk with Finny after work.

Someone got a bit tired after our walk!

Now I am catching up on DVRed shows and relaxing until we leave!

Currently my favorite show….hope everyone has a nice Monday!

Bad outfit choices, loner cars and great dinners!

16 Feb

Dan and I went to the gym this morning before work! We went to the new Cardio Express in Vernon, it is really nice. I was excited to use the new treadmills they have. WHOMP WHOMP! I wore these new yoga pants I bought in a medium, or that is what the hanger said, they were larges and thus way to big for me to be running in. I swear at one point I had the waist band over my belly button and still falling. Really hoping I can shrink them. All the outfit rearranging led to a very frustrated me who walked fast more than running and thus ended up with this!

1.8 in 14:13?!?!?! WHATTTTT HORRENDOUS!! Oh well there is always tomorrow to wear shorts and actually bust out a good run!

PLUS THEY HAVING SPINNING CLASSES, Really want to get into doing those to build my leg strength and overall endurance!

We then decided to do some abs!

Hahaha, you can totally see Dan’s head in the mirror and only my forehead because he is so tall and also yelling at me for taking pictures while working out. Also hey pink sneaker :). I had an 8lb medicine ball Dan a 12!

We did a circuit of 2 sets of each, we were going to do three but had stuff to do before work. Yes we did sit ups on the big balls, I did mine slow up for 4 then down for 4. We also did those things where you rest your shins on top of the ball and tighten your abs and roll the ball in. Then we did side touches with the medicine ball, and bell ringers, and hip bridges. AND PLANKS! I can still do them for a minute and side planks for 40 seconds. I was really glad I have kept some of my strength from training with Jeff, even though I have not been able to go since November. However I can go again at anytime, and will definitely love every second!

After the gym we had to drop my tank of a car off and pick up this bad boy loner! Somehow a nail got in my tire, my axel boots ripped (maybe because 500 trees fell in our driveway!) and I needed an oil change.

Hey little house :). Yes we have a red house with a tin roof, you can thank my father. We do every time it rains! You see our house was built by my grandfather in the 50’s and was the first house my dad lived in so it had to be restored to original condition. So even though it is loud when it rains, it is awesome for snow because it slides right off! Plus I am very sentimental and think its cool we live in my Memere and Peperes old house, but they are not married anymore. (Clarifying because eventually they will be in the blog with their “new” spouses and I don’t want anyone confused.) My grandma is my mothers mom, and she has dinners Wednesday. My grandpa is in heaven, so yes I have 5 living grandparents and one that I love with all my heart that I wish I could see again!

Anyway back to the car, I had an ’05 Altima before my Armada so when the choice came between this one and the rouge you knew what I would choose! It is pretty sweet! MEMORIESSSSSS!

Then we went to work 12-8! After work we went to Chili’s for dinner I had already eaten dinner at work but Dan was really hungry and this was my Valentines dinner out. (Chilis is my all time favorite restaurant, say what you will but I love it!)

So I figured I could score a nice lunch for the next day, and mission accomplished (I know you are all worried about my nutrition!)

Sweet and Spicy chicken, from the healthier menu items they offer. Steamed broccoli, rice and chicken in a habanero/orange glaze. AWESOME!

P.S.- the one bite I took out of the chicken was pretty much it, all of that went into a takeout container to accompany me to my office tomorrow!

Dan got Taco’s they also looked good, and yes I snuck a picture of his food.

he already ate one and the rice and beans.

Okay well I have to go to bed now, I am feeling bad about today’s run and thinking about tomorrows! Plus I have to get it done early in the morning. Goodnight friends, and feel free to leave me some comments, because I really enjoy them!
